guruGuru Studio’s dedicated team is passionate about bringing inspired character driven stories to screens around the world.

Our award winning and internationally renowned Toronto animated entertainment company is looking for a Software Developer who is responsible for architecting and developing pipeline infrastructure. This role reports directly to the Director of Production Technology.

Responsibilities:
Perform detailed use case analysis to articulate and document production user requirements.

Translate production requirements into detailed class designs to build an infrastructure that is robust, flexible and built for longevity.

Develop and maintain the core functionality of the pipeline back bone keeping in mind the fluid needs of disparate production types (2D, 3D, games) and the specific needs that will require implementation of new tools and workflows on a per production basis.

Create/update/add pipeline tools to enhance and streamline new and existing workflows.
Collaborate with production supervisors to plan and establish methodologies that meet or exceed the requirements of each production.

Exhaustive testing discipline to ensure robust, bug free code releases.
Develop and implement technical documentation, training documentation, and  mentoring to enhance skill-sets within the studio.

Qualifications:
-Minimum 5 years of TD experience in a CG environment

-Have a strong understanding of the needs of all departments across 2D/3D/games production life cycles including artist requirements, workflows, production management and deliveries.
-Experience with and proven working knowledge with two or more of Shotgun, Maya, Nuke Toonboom Harmony, Unity and VRay
-Various scripting languages, including Python (3 years minimum) and Mel
-Subversion, Mercurial or other revision control system
-Experience designing user interfaces
-Ability to work and interface with IT
-C/C++ or other object-oriented programming language an asset

-Experience with MySQL, Mongo an asset

-Experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript/Ajax an asset
-Enjoy problem solving, dislike repetition
