Our award winning and internationally renowned Toronto animated entertainment company is looking for a TECHNICAL DIRECTOR who is responsible for supporting the needs of production, pipeline and toolsets. This role reports directly to the Supervising Technical Director.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the development, maintenance and optimization of tools used in a 3D production.
Problem solve day-to-day pipeline issues that arise during the course of production.
Create/update/add pipeline tools to enhance and streamline new and existing workflows.
Collaborate with production supervisors to plan and establish methodologies that meet or exceed the requirements of each production.
Develop and implement training documentation, and mentoring to enhance skill-sets within the studio.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of TD experience in a CG environment
Experience with and proven working knowledge of Maya, Nuke and VRay
Various scripting languages, including Python and Mel
Subversion, CVS, or other revision control system
Experience designing user interfaces
Ability to work and interface with IT
C/C++ or other object-oriented programming language an asset
Enjoy problem solving, dislike repetition
