Arc Productions, a Canadian based CG animation and visual effects facility located in downtown Toronto is looking for Software Developers to join our team. With over 250 artists and technical directors and the most up to date resources available, we bring the vision to both major Hollywood studios and independent producers to life in a wide array of formats: theatrical features, television, DVDs, shorts and game cinematics.

JOB TITLE: Software Developer
DEPARTMENT: Technology
REPORTS TO: Head of Technology

Position Overview
As a Software Developer, successful applicants will contribute to projects in all areas of development in the department. Responsibilities will include developing and testing new software solutions, supporting and debugging production software and contributing to the overall quality of our codebase through testing, analysis and documentation. Developers will have the opportunities to advance and expand their skills by collaborating with senior staff, leading small projects and learning new technologies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Develop and test new software solutions

* Support and debug production software

* Contribute to the overall quality of codebase through testing, analysis and documentation

Requirement Skills & Experience:

* Computer Science Engineering degree
* Animation, visual effects or game industry experience a plus
* Knowledge of CG technologies and applications (including Maya, OpenGL, Mental ray and/or Renderman) required
* 3+ years experience programming in C++ and Python
* Software engineering knowledge, including UML, design patterns, unit-testing
* Experience as a user and as a developer on Linux and Windows platforms
* Knowledge of GUI tool-kits, especially wxPython, is a strong asset
* Knowledge of network/web applications and RDBMSs is a plus
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
