Job Opportunity: 2D Junior Animator

Employer: Taqqut Productions (Toronto Office) / Tundra Friends S1 Inc.

Reports To: Series Production Manager and Animation Supervisor

Terms of Employment: October 12, 2021 – February 18, 2022

Compensation: $900/week

Location: must be an Ontario resident

We’re looking for a talented junior animator to join our team for a brand new 2D animated series, Tundra Friends.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong animation skills in Toon Boom Harmony, some experience with 2D rigged animation, and the ability to adapt and adhere to the production style. Key responsibilities include: interpreting storyboards to create animated scenes that fit the show’s tone and style, creating posing passes using character rigs, and turning posing passes into final animated performances. Animators will communicate with the Animation Supervisor to submit regular progress for review, and to apply any necessary revisions.

Due to COVID-19 this will be a remote work-from-home position. A small Internet stipend will also be provided.

Software Knowledge Required:

Toon Boom Harmony, Google Suite, Frame.io (an asset, but not required)

Required skills:

  • Professional experience with rigged 2D animation 
  • Able to adhere to production style and tone
  • Strong communication skills in discussing requirements, deadlines and quota with Animation Supervisor 
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to take direction from supervisors
  • Able to meet deadlines
