from the internets: Paul Dutton on the Illusionist
BleedingCool.com brings a little more from Calgarian Paul Dutton, who was the animation Director on Sylvain Chomet’s The Illusionist. The interview is a bit light, but it’s nice to see Paul getting a share of the attention.
Here’s a snippet:
I think with any movie, especially a movie where you’re somewhat restricted by budget, and where the movie is ambitious artistically, I think there’s going to be friction and problems. It wasn’t easy, I’ll say that. It was challenging to make this film, but the crew stuck around, and had they not thought it was worth the effort, they would have fled to all points. I probably wouldn’t go any further into than that… I’ll just say it’s just a gorgeous movie that we all worked hard to make.
