Wish I could go! Take pictures please. The more compromising the better!

    One days notice.. great timing.

You should have waited till an hour before the event started! Then we could have had the start of a great reality TV show where all the animation peeps in the GTA try and get there at the same time. Hilarity would ensue and someone would end up loosing an eye I’m sure.
I almost got in my car this afternoon to go but then I thought…. F**k it, it’s only Toronto.

Wow, what’s with the hostility people? I think “thank you” is what you are looking for.

I actually heard about this earlier this week, but I was not sure if it was only for big shots and what not 😛 Wish I could make it…

I rather you posted say, before just the day before. It’s not rocket science.

I’m not sure I understand the issue here. Mike provides this service to the animation community for free. He doesn’t require that people pay to register (or register at all for that matter), he provides job postings (again, at no charge), and takes the time to search out information and share as much as possible. In fact, all of the contributors are volunteering their time to ensure that the community has food for thought and a forum to discuss ideas. While I can understand your disappointment at being unable to attend tomorrow night’s event, at least you now know the event exists, and you can plan to attend the next one.

I guess I’m just curious: Why would you attempt to insult someone who is doing you a favour?

I hope maybe you have hostility mixed up with humor?
I know my comment was meant to be stupid and funny and I am speaking fromthehappyplacethatsitsintheexactcenterofmyhead, atleastwhenIreallytrytofocusonitandtuneoutallthenoise when I say that I suspect that actuallyKnowsSomething was being humorous as well.
And on the off chance that there was true criticism then we can take two possible paths.

    1. Get into a deep and meaningful dialogue amongst readers and contributors and truly find ways to enhance our enjoyment of this great site.

    or

    2. Make it all become a farce, a failed Frankenstein monster of little minds saying little things about nothing in particular that nobody will remember when the world falls apart (next week, Tuesday, 3P.M. Atlantic). I think that should stay in the realm of Facebook.

To be fair it is a drag that this was put up on the day before the event. That shouldn’t be taken as criticism though, just an opinion from a reader(contributor) and fan of the site. On the flip side there have been a huge pile of great posts that have been made by you, Mike, and is why I keep coming back.
Well that and a chance to write idiotic rants like this.

Let’s not forget though, It is in Toronto and who REALLY cares about that place anyway!
    🙂

I’d agree that this notice was posted a little late.

I don’t live outside T.O., but it’d suck if you didn’t have time to plan ahead.

I’m also curious where else this event advertises. I know it’s on Facebook, but that’s really “word of mouth”. If you don’t work at the studios that are sponsoring it, how’d you know about it?

    Just curious.

I got notices through Twitter, facebook and Linked In as well. I was serious that I almost did drive up but 15 hours in the car seemed too big a price!
