events: TAAFI IS HERE.

Today is the opening day of TAAFI, the brand-spanking-newest animation festival in the world, right here in Toronto!  A back injury is going to side-line me for a lot of it, but I’m taking part/moderating a couple of panels, and will do my best to let you guys know how it shapes up.  That all being said, if any of you attendees would like to send me some play-by-play of your experience at the festival, we’re interested in your coverage.  You can send me write-ups to mv@canadiananimationresources.ca!

I know the guys behind this event have been working tirelessly to get it up and running.  It’s no small effort to host an event of this scale.  The opening night party is tonight, along with a gala screening of Ronal the Barbarian.  The Charlie Bonifacio event is sold-out, along with the career panel I’m co-hosting with Ben McEvoy.  It’s going to be a busy weekend!  Best of luck to all involved, and everybody else, ENJOY!

If anyone wants to help populate a discussion group for the Canadian animation industry, head on over to http://www.reddit.com/r/CanadianAnimation/. CanadianAnimationResources.ca is a great website and I come here every day for news and updates. If you want more involved conversations with other users and if you’re a Redditor than /r/CanadianAnimation can be a great place to start. We can help other animators with tips and job postings and discussion about the industry.
